AAL - Microsound

A workshop and concert exploring the inner detail of instrumental sound through amplification, granular synthesis and live electronics. Violin, viola and piano provide the starting point for an exploration of timbre, time and space.

Notes

The concert programme brought together chamber works by Garth Knox, Morton Feldman, Iannis Xenakis and Salvatore Sciarrino, alongside Le bleu du ciel fragile for piano and live electronics. The workshop explored granular synthesis as a means of fragmenting, reshaping and recomposing instrumental sound.
