AAL - Time Slices

A workshop and live performance exploring sampling, editing and micro-editing through voice, flute, percussion and electronics. Sanskrit phonetics provided a model for organising sound and shaping the performance’s timbral structure.

Notes

The project drew on the organisation and articulation of Sanskrit syllables to analyse vocal resonances and guide filtering and equalisation processes. Live sampling and editing brought recorded material into dialogue with the performers, exploring how sounds from different places and times could coexist within a shared musical structure.
