Through six tales narrated by Dario Vergassola, Storie di mare e piccole terre explores the relationship between human beings, marine life and the natural world. Songs by Marquica and Dargen D’Amico meet instrumental music performed by the Fresh Fish Ensemble, conducted by Maurizio Dini Ciacci, and a video project directed by Luc Jacquet.
The musical work combines new arrangements with additional instrumental passages. Electronic composition and live electronics create a continuous musical thread through the performance, connecting spoken text, songs, ensemble writing and images. Selected songs by Marquica were also developed through co-writing.
Produced by the Centro Servizi Culturali S. Chiara in collaboration with MUSE – Museo delle Scienze, the production premiered at the Teatro Auditorium in Trento on 21 May 2021, with further performances on 22 and 23 May. The final performance was also streamed on LIVENow.
